Insight and inspiration for the enterprise

When we talk about innovation, our conversation starts with you.

It's not about what HP has done or developed. It’s about what our innovations can do for you – your ability to win in the marketplace; improve service to your customers, constituents and colleagues; and thrive in the shift to a New Style of IT.

In other words, not just technology. And not innovation for innovation's sake. But rather, innovative ways technology can be delivered and consumed to help you reach your goals and stay a step ahead in this new, business-led, collaborative IT environment.

Innovation in action: case studies

Innovative solutions that transform our clients' outcomes.

HP got its start more than 70 years ago because of two men who believed in their ideas. While a lot has changed since then, our commitment to innovation has not. Today we have more than 300,000 employees doing business in 170 countries. Our most recognized innovators include Fellows, Distinguished and Chief Technologists, HP Labs researchers, and product and services delivery teams—working in every corner of the world to bring innovation to you.

Chris Moyer

Chris Moyer

We asked Chris three questions:

  1. What does innovation mean to HP?

Delivering breakthroughs

HP Labs

HP Labs is passionate about making our research real—driving technology to commercialization in the areas most important to our customers and society; creating solutions that transform data into value, bytes into experiences, noise into knowledge. We invest across HP's strategic pillars—cloud, security, information optimization—and also in mobility, content and printing, sustainability, and future computing platforms and capabilities. And we take our technologies from prototype to near market-ready.

HP Labs is applying our expertise in five areas that we believe are crucial to the future of information technology, including:

  • Cloud and Security – Delivering technologies ranging from embedded security control points to high level models of cross-boundary automated management.
  • Information Analytics – Turning enormous and rapidly increasing amounts of enterprise information into relevant business insight.

We also look at emerging trends to understand where our industry—and our world—is headed, invest in a forward-looking, ambitious research agenda for tomorrow, and build a pipeline to fuel the next generation of HP products, services and solutions. HP Labs delivers breakthroughs that can transform current businesses and create new ones.
